DESIGN & DÉCOR IDEAS
INSTUDIO presents Design & Décor Ideas that anyone can learn from. We feature a wide range of ideas, words, thoughts, products, influences, details, books, materials, inspirations and architecture that we find interesting.
Sure we may feature a gigantic skylight from a grand historic building; but who's to say that you can't benefit from a small skylight in a dark area of your home? It's all about the idea!
As INSTUDIO grows in design we will help you grow in design.
Traditionally in Africa there is no separation between functional items and art. Everything that exist (including bodies) receives pattern, in a way it’s all considered art
Samuel Says: I’ve been hooked on contemporary Italian design from the first time I looked at an Italian design magazine in the late 1970’s
My first freelance design project gave me enough money to splurge on two Tizio lamps. I’ve used Artemide fixtures for special accent lighting ever since. Artemide lighting balances art and design like we love to do at INSTUDIO
Fluting can be found on glassware, architectural wood moldings, furniture even fabrics (think corduroy). Grooves have always been groovy!
Our latest book purchase about architect, interior and furniture designer Orlando Diaz-Azcuy is not a book that we like, but a book that we LOVE!
The new release by Diane Dorrans-Saeks is beautifully written. The photographs entice you to turn the pages slowly while taking in the works of a master.
Instudio often uses carpet tiles for both residential and commercial applications. Tandus by C & A features designs by Suzanne Tick and Jhane Barnes. These textile designers approach weave, color and pattern in a manner that is always innovative and fresh. We have Tandus carpet tile in our new studio, we have it in our art studio.
Our local sales representative Jim Thompson arranged a donation of carpet tile to our local not-for-profit Art 94124 Gallery. Carpet tile allows the serving of red wine at exhibit openings, which is usually a no-no in a gallery.
