Samuel began his career 30 years ago in the interiors group of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and has designed corporate interiors for architectural firms in San Francisco and New York City for 20 years. Stephen's recent business design experience was developed by his work with a master of space planning Jocelyn Muncaster of Gryphon Studios. Together they designed interiors for young gifted technology professionals of GOOGLE.
Lewis has designed classic modern and traditional luxury for large corporate interiors. Kladder designs business work spaces within a fun home away from home atmosphere. At GOOGLE lounge spaces were meeting spaces, mini kitchens made you feel at home, color energized the designs and environmental concerns were addressed by the use of green products and the reuse of existing work stations, furniture and materials.

Your business may be conducted out of an extra bedroom of your home, a converted garage, you may sublease space within another business but need your own identity, you may have a retail space that needs to look attractive to draw customers to your place of business, or you may be in a traditional office building.
The elements that relate to all small business design is that the space plan must be tied to your business activities, you must have proper storage so time is not wasted looking for things, it must "clean up nicely" for visiting customers or guest, be easily maintained, you and your employees must enjoy the space, and the design must fit the personality of your business.
As small business owners ourselves we know that a good amount of your time is spent in the workplace. Sometimes you are in the office, shop or café more than you are at home. With the cost of business furnishings, you want to invest in items that you will grow with you when your business expands.
For Ottex Corporation we designed an 8 person office that is residential in feel. The employees of this food development company usually lunched together every day. The reception has the quality of a living room with a comfortable small sofa, product display on shelves from Ikea and an art collection that was started with the president of the company.
